Songhaï/Israël Cooperation: young volunteers from Israel in Songhaï for the implementation of development projects

On 20th September, Songhaï welcomed at Cotonou International Airport, a team of young volunteers from Israel for a 3-month stay. It’s the first time Songhai is receiving such visit which marks a new dynamics of international cooperation not only between the centre and Israël, but also between countries of different socio-economic levels of development. This is a cooperation whose particularity is both in the development background of Israël and in the content of the 3 main development projects on which the young volunteers will concentrate on during their stay.

These have to do with the development of strategies to improve Songhaï communication policy both internally and externally, the stimulation of the mechanisms aiming at facilitating access to market for farmers, the designing, the drafting and the establishment of a development project by the young volunteers on their personal initiative and in collaboration with Songhaï community. These are projects which will enable the implementation of Songhaï business model aiming at giving an impetus to rural growth.

The visit of the seven young volunteers will end on 25th December 2010. It’s a starting point for Songhaï/Israël cooperation and an opportunity which the centre intends using to redirect his technological, organizational and moral agenda which ensures for Africa a number of development actors with the appropriate profile of mentor and citizen.
