The hoe and other small tools usually used in agriculture will soon be a thing of the past in Songhaï. The mechanization of agriculture which Songhai began just had a great progress. 88 packages of agricultural machines ordered from China arrived last month. They were comprised of 9 power-tillers of which 6 small ones, 3 sets of multi-purpose transplanting machines, 3 harvesters, an important set of accessories, 9 motor-pumps and 9 three-phase generators.

Training in agricultural entrepreneurship: the “Tailor Made” for capacity building |

Leadership and managerial Capacity building for Songhaï staff and people from Togo and Guinea Conakry are the reason for a training session (Tailor Made) launched on the 27th September 2010 in Songhaï Centre in Porto-Novo. « The human capital and the innovation to serve entrepreneurship and economic development » is the theme of this training with Dr Bijaoui’s presentations on the human capital, the economic analysis and development which will help participants better ascertain the entrepreneurial spirit in the management of activities of all sectors being their respective institutions.

Songhaï/Israël Cooperation: young volunteers from Israel in Songhaï for the implementation of development projects |

On 20th September, Songhaï welcomed at Cotonou International Airport, a team of young volunteers from Israel for a 3-month stay. It’s the first time Songhai is receiving such visit which marks a new dynamics of international cooperation not only between the centre and Israël, but also between countries of different socio-economic levels of development. This is a cooperation whose particularity is both in the development background of Israël and in the content of the 3 main development projects on which the young volunteers will concentrate on during their stay.

102 new agricultural entrepreneurs for Enugu State (Nigeria) |

Hundred and two (102) agricultural entrepreneurs have just been added to the long register of trainees and agriculture students trained by Songhaï Centre. This Friday 3rd September marked the completion of their training that lasted six (06) months. At the graduation ceremony, these young men and women were handed over their certificates. The event was embellished with the presence of Eric Oluedo, Enugu State Minister of Agriculture.
